Providence Christmas began as a Vader family holiday light show that we coined “Vaderville”. Over the years, we’ve added more lights, more special effects, more visitors, more sponsors, more charity and more families to the show. It’s no longer a Vader family affair. So this year we’ve opted to begin making the transition to a new name that more accurately represents the goals that we set out to achieve from the very beginning: to become a catalyst for turning Providence into one of the premier “must see” D/FW neighborhoods during the holidays, to ‘pay it forward’ through the collection of charitable donations and to generally share the joy that is the season. Welcome to Providence Christmas.
A Little More About the Vaders

We’re Darren and Angela Vader – founder, designer, programmers and head elf of Vaderville Christmas Light display/Providence Christmas. We’re the proud parents of 6 year old Samuel and 3 year old Lauren – both of whom find their fathers infatuation with Christmas lights to be absolutely amazing.
In Samuel’s words, “My front yard is just the most wonderful thing I’ve ever seen!” He keeps asking us why Santa Claus has been hiding in Lauren’s room. We might find it difficult to explain that one.
This whole fiasco really started when I ran across the now famous video of Carson Williams 2005 display in Ohio. The viral nature of Carson’s video (synchronized to Transiberian Orchestra’s Wizards of Winter) not only made it a staple of computer light show enthusiasts across the globe – it got Carsons house featured in a Miller Lite commercial and spawned thousands of new light show enthusiasts; just like me!
This year is our fourth year and we’ve expanded greatly year after year. We now have over 70,000 lights and four houses synchronized in the show – and counting; almost tripling the insanity every year. Mostly in part to our neighbors – who are now part of the show and we all make a team of planning and building throughout the year.
Anyhoo – for the moment we just hope you enjoy the show!
